After releasing their third LP Leïla Nova in January, Ko Shin Moon returned to the studio to work on a series entitled Miniature.

With this new body of work, Ko Shin Moon are paying tribute to pop and folk cultures from Maghreb to India, gently inviting listeners to travel through space and time. Retrofuturistic electronic music, Avant Funk, Spaghetti Western and Acid House are mingling with psychedelic music from the Levant, Anatolian rock, Algerian Staifi and Indian filmi music.

For each Miniature, Ko Shin Moon collaborated with craftsmen of this musical heritage. Together, they are challenging our concept of borders.

Miniature #1 is the child of two encounters : one occurred in Cairo in 2018, in a music venue unaffected by the passing of time, with singer Sara El Rawy and Arghul player Amin Shahin. The second encounter happened when Arabs Do It Better co-founder Marwan Hawash, then owner of the legendary club Anna Loulou in Jaffa, introduced Palestinian singer Mouna Hawa to the band. The four tracks of Miniature #1 are a dialogue with the very much alive musical traditions of Egypt and the Levant.
